Volunteering is a way of life at IHT

Volunteers are essential to the success of IHT. If you believe that land protection is important, please consider becoming a volunteer.

We have interesting possibilities in all sorts of sizes! We need volunteers to:

  • Help in the office with organizing materials, writing, public relations, and working on projects
  • Serve as an easement steward to monitor easement compliance and do site visits
  • Work as Island Stewards making regular visits through the summer
  • Do trail maintenance and cleanups
  • Be a speaker in our Walks & Talks Program
  • Serve on one of our committees – we are currently looking for members to be an active part of our Campaign, Finance, and Communications Committees
  • Engage yourself and others in fund-raising throughout the year. Dream up ways for us to fulfill our mission in new and exciting ways! Change your life and many others’ lives – be a volunteer!

Naturalist Jill Weber works with volunteers at Scotts' Landing on Old Ferry Road assessing what resources need protecting.
